A "Work From Home" professional audio battlestation to enjoy quality music in peace

This week the computer desk setup that I present to you is dedicated to audiophiles, those who with their computer can accept compromises except for the audio sector where sound quality has priority over everything.

Kongjarl’s WFH (Work From Home) workstation is based on a computer with normal performance and a large screen but what makes the difference is its audio system with amplifier and dac of maximum respect. Combined with these we find a large set of headphones and earphones, all different from each other to better capture the various nuances of sound. Let’s talk with him.

Hi Kongjarl, where are you from and how old are you?
I’m 34 and from Denmark

What do you do with your computer?
Unfortunately, mostly work these days. But I try to get all the gaming in I can find time for. But I have a house, a wife and a toddler, so time is a limited resource right now! When I game, it’s usually single players games, as it makes it a little more flexible than multiplayer games

When did you start optimizing your workstation?
I’ve always been optimizing my workstation. My current workstation has just been finalized this summer. Normally my stations are changed every 10-12 months in some degree.

What fundamental characteristics must a good battlestation have?
For me it’s all about the functionality. So a good screen and ease of use. I like to have all my audio devices close to me and easy to use. It should be a good mix between work and gaming.

What are the strengths of your workstation?
Without doubt my screen and audio. I work in the audio industry, which gives me quite a few benefits! In the past I had 4 x 27″ screens, but it was actually creating more chaos than benefit. Therefore I cannot recommend an ultrawide enough. It’s amazing to work on and immersive for gaming. I however, still have a 15″ portable screen for Spotify control

Have you already thought about the next evolutions?
I deeply wish that the component situation would become better, so I could upgrade my 1080 GPU. So here is to hoping!
