Blaze Entertainment is not a new name for retrogaming enthusiasts. In fact, in 2020, the British company had already launched a portable version of Evercade with more than 280 titles available, usable exclusively through its proprietary cartridge format.
Their latest “anachronistic” creation is Evercade VS. It is a full-fledged home console, to be connected to an HD TV via HDMI cable with a series of solutions that project it into the current era of video games.
First of all, it has been designed for local multiplayer gaming, in fact it is possible to connect up to 4 controllers at the same time.
It also comes with a built-in Wi-Fi connection for firmware updates to be performed more easily. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no online multiplayer functions, but this is a possibility that cannot be completely excluded, indeed the company has already said it is open to this hypothesis.
For the more nostalgic, a series of filters are presented that will make the gaming experience as faithful to the original. For example, you can in fact choose the 4: 3 aspect ratio, Pixel Perfect or Full Screen and also set the shaders / scanlines to simulate the old CRT screens.
With an exquisitely retro and minimalist design, the shell in pearl white embellished with fluorescent red lines of Evercade VS, contains a 1.5 Ghz quad core processor, supported by 512 MB of RAM and an internal memory of 4GB.
