LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car kit to the delight of the eighties' children

It was back in 1984 when it debuted on the big screen, and it should have returned last summer, but sadly, COVID-19 has postponed the release of Ghostbuster: Afterlife. Meanwhile, for movie fans and children of all ages, here’s the LEGO 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 kit.

The LEGO 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 kit is inspired by the aged and rusty version (after being abandoned for 30 years in a barn) that we will be able to see in cinemas in 2021 with the new chapter of Ghostbuster: Afterlife.

The car is based on the 1959 Cadillac Superior Miller Meteor ambulance version, this great version of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 includes a host of tools and features to hunt down ectoplasmic entities. In fact, we find a rotating ghost hunter mounted on the roof and activated by the motion of the wheels, an ecto-trap in a remote-controlled rover version that can be released via a mobile and opening ramp placed in correspondence with the rear compartment, a rear seat that can be pulled out laterally for the gunboat and, obviously, bodywork with the iconic Ghostbusters corporate logo.

Built with 2,352 bricks, the Ghostbusters’ car is presented with respectable dimensions: 22.5 cm in height, 47 cm in length and 16.5 cm in width. Michael Psiaki, Lego Design Master, said the kit is “full of authentic features and Easter Eggs” that builders will find when they put it together.

The new LEGO 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 is the most detailed brick reproduction ever produced and is the latest in a collection of film and franchise-based sets, intended for adult enthusiasts and collectors who like to build to relax or indulge their own passion for cinema.
