I started this new year with an upgrade to my office EDC setup. A renewal that essentially concerns the colors but not the substance. In fact, I bought back my main accessories in blue, an electric and elegant color that has always represented me. It is a tone that gives serenity and invites calm, it symbolizes escape and peace, just what I need to start over.
For a decade I have been using a Moleskine with a weekly layout, size L and black hardcover as a diary. This year I opted for the Sapphire Blue colored cover variant. The inside of the pages remains unchanged, with the left part reserved for the Weekly Planner and the right part for notes. This is a layout that I find very comfortable and that I continue to prefer to modern digital solutions. The paper is of excellent quality and resists even the most invasive inks. In the back cover, as always, there is a handy pocket for storing small sheets or documents.
In addition to a “paper” diary, I also prefer tradition in writing instruments. Knowing my passion for technology you wouldn’t bet a cent on it, but I’m also a collector of fountain pens. I particularly love those produced by Lamy such as the timeless Safari or the Al-Star model. So this Christmas I got myself an Al-Star Ocean Blue with an extra fine nib. A classic blue ink cartridge is also included in the box.
I paired my Amazon Kindle Paperwhite with a waterproof fabric cover in Marine Blue. Lightweight and compact, with a screen that does not tire the eyes and a practically inexhaustible battery, after years I still consider it the best e-reader on the market. This bright new cover goes well with the black of the Kindle. The quality of the materials is clearly superior to the cheaper solutions, also interesting is the Amazon logo placed at the bottom right on the front.
The Sport Loop is my favorite Apple Watch band series. Comfortable to tie on the wrist, they are easily adjusted and adapt to any occasion, from the sportiest to the most serious. Like all Apple products, the quality of the materials is excellent and its fabric has remained intact even after being in contact with water several times.
The blue-black combination of the Midnight Blue model is sadly out of production but you can still find something similar through third-party manufacturers or stock leftovers on unofficial stores.
Blue cover also for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, to be precise it is the silicone case with MagSafe with Deep Navy color. I appreciate the original Apple covers because in addition to covering the smartphone without affecting its aesthetics too much, they return a pleasant tactile feedback: rubbery, opaque and without fingerprints.
