Not quite like Jeff Bezos aboard the New Shepard but this rocket is fun nonetheless

On July 20, Amazon president Jeff Bezos reached an altitude of about 100km above sea level, touching the boundaries of space aboard the New Shepard of Blue Origin, the private space travel company he founded.

To the delight of space exploration nerds and Blue Origin fans, it is now possible to celebrate that milestone with a model of the New Shepard rocket produced under official license by the Estes company. Made in 1/66 scale, the rocket can fly up to 120 meters from the ground. A height certainly not breathtaking but still sufficient to give the thrill of a countdown and a rocket take off in the sky.

On the company’s website it is already possible to pre-order it at the launch price of $ 69.99 and also available a bundle that includes a Porta-Pad II Launch Pad, a controller to manage the launch and a package of C5-3 engines and others spare parts. First deliveries are scheduled for November 2021.

Estes is a company that specializes precisely in the production of truly functional rocket models. They use thrusters made for the models and land using a parachute. The company has announced its new product with an official trailer that you can find below.
