Many divers are fascinated by the mysterious world of the ocean at night. In fact, night dives are a completely different experience of the sea from that of day dives. With them in mind, Seiko launched The Black Series, an exclusive collection consisting of three modern reinterpretations of the brand’s historic timepieces produced in 1965, 1980 and 1970.
Produced in only 5,500 pieces, those three new diver’s watches are equipped with Caliber 6R35, an automatic movement which delivers a power reserve of 70 hours.
In addition to the philosophy behind it, we also find a series of technical solutions common to all three models of this exclusive collection.
The orange accents across the watch capture the light that shines under the sea at night, while the hour markers and hands are coated with Lumibrite to ensure high legibility in the darkest of conditions.
The watches are offered with a fabric strap which incorporates a traditional braiding technique from Japan called Seichu. Moreover, is included an additional black silicone strap that can be worn in a wide range of situations.
