PUMA and Nintendo have worked together to realize a new footwear line. A collaboration created to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise. Iconic game elements such as colors, graphics, and fan-favorite characters are used throughout the collection.
This exciting partnership features some of PUMA’s most distinctive silhouettes, Future Rider, RS-Fast, Clyde and a version of J. Cole’s signature basketball shoe the RS-Dreamer. Moreover, the apparel includes a selection of tees and sweatshirts that match the design of each shoe.
The inspiration for this shoes and apparel collection comes from the recent release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch. The game just featuring three of Mario’s greatest adventures, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and, the my favorite one, Super Mario Galaxy.
But there is also another exciting surprise that pays homage to Nintendo’s original 8 bit console, better known as NES. The Future Rider Nintendo Entertainment System shoe, with its grey, red, and black color scheme is a direct nod to the system’s vintage design. Furthermore, the tag on the shoe’s tongue features the cover of the first-ever Super Mario Bros. game. Other fun embellishments include the Power and Reset buttons, and a hangtag shaped like the Classic NES Controller.
Its style, however sober, allows it to be worn even in less casual outfits.
