Cubbit is a new distributed cloud system, managed by you and yours forever. Platform users, by joining forces, create a collaborative storage space to form the most private, secure and sustainable cloud ever.
Simple to use and 100% private, it is the first and perhaps the only cloud that provides a single one-time payment and then remains yours, forever.
The truth is that we never really realize the importance of our data. We often make backups on unsafe and durable media. The most attentive and thoughtful rely on cloud solutions, however, taking on the related costs and any risks to privacy. Cubbit, on the other hand, offers all the advantages of cloud storage while managing to reduce costs and increase security at the same time. To explain the easy way, the decentralized peer-to-peer system fragments and encrypts the stored data so that no one but you can access it, not even Cubbit himself.
All at the cost of the device for accessing the network or, rather, the “swarm”.
Unlike a common NAS, taking advantage of the multiple connections of the p2p network, Cubbit can boast a much higher online transfer speed. Furthermore, when a NAS goes offline for any reason, access to files is inhibited. On the other hand, even if your Cubbit Cell goes offline, you can still access your files.
No problem even when multiple cells go offline. In fact, just two thirds of the Cubbit Cells cells are offline at the same time, the coordinating server activates the restore procedure that forces the other cells that already have your chunks to send a copy in the swarm, guaranteeing the redundancy of your files.
The Italian startup, with over 1,000,000 dollars raised in crowdfunding, is in the top 1% of Kickstarter campaigns of all time. Since launch, it has shipped over 3,000 phones to over 70 countries and seems unwilling to stop its rapid rise.
