Ampere launches Dusk, a revolutionary pair of smart sunglasses with app-enabled dynamic lenses, an open-ear sound system and accessories designed to integrate with Apple AirTag. With Dusk you can change the lens tint instantly, to your liking.
Unlike traditional photochromic lenses (also called transition lenses) which react to light, Dusk’s lenses are electrochromic and allow you to electrically adjust the tint level in just 0.1 second to the desired color. Using the same powerful technology used for luxury car windows through the Ampere app, you’ll be able to pair your frames and set the exact lens tint level and even save your favorite settings. Even without resorting to your smartphone, you can simply adjust between three tint levels via the touch controls on the left side of the frame or set them for automatic adjustment.
Dusk is also equipped with an open ear sound system and allows for a great listening experience while on the go. Speakers inside each arm discreetly provide crystal clear audio while allowing you to stay aware of your surroundings, making them perfect for driving, biking or walking on busy streets. For touch and voice control, a built-in microphone and button on the right side of the bezel will allow you to access Siri and Google Assistant. The button will also allow you to answer calls, pause or skip tracks, keeping you completely hands-free.
Despite being designed to be lightweight, waterproof and durable, unlike other bulky audio sunglasses on the market, Dusk has a classic and timeless style. The arms of the frame are ultra-thin and it is very easy to mistake them for a normal pair of glasses. The classic Wayfarer frame has a slightly oversized profile and fits almost any face shape. With polarized lenses that block 100% of UVA / UVB rays and a modern matte black finish, Dusk has a premium look and feel. The frames weigh just over 26 grams and are comfortable to wear all day. They also have an IP65 waterproof rating which makes them perfect for a day at the beach or in the pool.
There is a space at the top of the charging case to house the AppleTag device, so you’ll be able to track down your lost sunglasses using Apple’s Find My app.
